STORMWATER MANAGEMENT (VSMP) ENGINEER III

As an integral part of the day-to-day operations of the VSMP, the successful candidate will apply engineering practices and SWM regulations in conducting complex, advanced-level SWM plan review, and process VSMP permit applications. Field work may periodically be necessary as well, along with other related duties as assigned. Attention to detail, accurate record keeping and a thorough knowledge of Best Management Practice (BMP) design, hydrology and hydraulics, general drainage concepts, and the County's local SWM program and state requirements will be essential in carrying out these duties.

Salary commensurate with experience. 

Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from a four-year college or university accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technologies with coursework related to stormwater management, or three (3) years of stormwater management design or review experience.

Must have or obtain SWM Plan Reviewer certification through the Commonwealth of Virginia within one year of employment. The position may be required to work beyond normal work day as required to attend Board of Supervisors, Planning Commission, or other special meetings related to the overall job component.

This position may require field work and presence at development and constructions sites.
