The Loudoun County Department of Building and Development is seeking a talented, customer service oriented individual to lead and manage a team responsible for reviewing zoning permit applications for conformance to the Loudoun County Zoning Ordinances and various other administrative and legislative approvals.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following, in support of the Permits Division Manager:
Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Master's degree with major coursework in urban planning, engineering, or a related field plus 2 years related experience in zoning, planning and/or proffer management.
A minimum of 2 years supervisory experience is preferred.
The Division seeks a strong leader with the ability to foster collaboration, motivate staff, further develop staff knowledge and strengthen employee performance. Position requires excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills and the ability to effectively communicate policies and procedures to staff, customers and community contacts. The Zoning Permits Manager/Program Administrator should have a working knowledge of local codes and ordinances and experience with legislative proffers and conditions. This individual should be self-motivated and be able to adapt to change.
The position requires the ability to manage program workflow and products within critical timelines; facilitate process improvements; think strategically about operational and programmatic issues; communicate ideas clearly, concisely and effectively; analyze conflicts and facilitate resolutions. This position must establish effective relationships with other employees, officials, business community and the general public. Superior customer service skills are essential and the ability to work effectively in a team environment is required.
