Loudoun County is currently seeking an Equity Specialist in the Office of Equity and Inclusion within the Office of the County Administrator. The newly funded position will work with the Chief Equity Officer in the implementation and evaluation of the diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA) curriculum for workplace equity.
The Equity Specialist will assist the Chief Equity Officer, county leadership, and senior managers to implement the equity strategic plan and engage leadership to ensure that equity considerations inform departmental planning and decision-making processes to further DEIA goals. The successful candidate will continuously research the most current DEIA best practices to provide ongoing training to county staff and will work with stakeholders within and outside of county government to further DEIA goals. The Equity Specialist will support key initiatives to advance the County's Equity Resolution, equity strategic plan, and DEIA goals. This position will assist in the development and delivery of specialized curriculum related to the County's DEIA concepts and framework. This position will provide significant input into the development of department-specific equity impact plans and actions to effect cultural and organizational change. The Equity Specialist will liaison with the community to further strengthen community partnerships. This position will assist in identifying institutional practices that perpetuate or bring about racial and social disparities and inequity and will work with leadership, staff, and other stakeholders to eliminate them.

Salary Commensurate with Experience
Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field; three (3) years of related work experience in diversity, equity, and inclusion; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Thorough knowledge of cultural competence, inclusiveness and diversity issues, and program evaluation methodologies. Experience in curriculum development and facilitating diversity, equity, and inclusion within professional development sessions. Ability to facilitate discussion around sensitive issues and analyze conflicts and facilitate resolutions. Work is performed in a dynamic environment that requires sensitivity to change and responsiveness to changing goals, priorities, and needs.
