GRANTS ACCOUNTANT

Loudoun County's Department of Finance and Budget, Accounting Division, is seeking a detail-oriented Grants Accountant with strong analytical skills who thrives in a fast-paced work environment. The ideal candidate should possess knowledge and experience of OMB uniform guidance, cost principles, audit requirements specifically for federal awards, and generally accepted accounting principles. Knowledge of governmental accounting and GASB is strongly preferred.

Essential functions include:

• Prepare Federal and State regulated reports for Funds and Grant programs such as the Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds (CSFRF/CLFRF/) Program under the American Rescue Plan Act, and FEMA reimbursement in compliance with the reporting requirements established by the Federal and/or State government for the specified program.
• Review, monitor, and reconcile budgetary and actual revenue and expenditures for grants.
• Provide support for ad-hoc projects and analysis, prepare journal entries and reconciliations, prepare and review grant invoices, research, and prepare audit work papers and analysis to support the completion of the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report, Schedule of Expenditure of Federal Awards, and contributing to other accounting and financial analysis as needed.
• Review of financial documents and oversee finances of assigned county departments'.

Hiring salary commensurate with experience.

This position is eligible for up to three (3) days a week of telework in accordance with the County's Telework Policy.

Position requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field and a minimum of three (3) years of direct work experience in grant accounting and management. Experience working with a major ERP system such as Oracle, Deltek or SAP is preferred.
