The Department of Family Services administers a wide variety of programs and services that assist children, youth, families, individuals with disabilities, and older adults with basic supports and medical needs as well as services to protect children and vulnerable adults from abuse, neglect, and exploitation. The Loudoun County Department of Family Services is currently seeking talented and highly motivated candidates who are looking to work in a diverse, exciting, and fast paced work environment and have a desire to help others gain self-sufficiency.
This position is responsible for oversight of the Virginia Initiative for Education and Work (VIEW) Program. The VIEW Program provides employment, education, and training opportunities to assist individuals in attaining the goal of self-sufficiency. Responsibilities include direct, daily oversight of the team of Career and Family Counselors to include ensuring policy and procedures are adhered to and relevant training is provided.
Responsibilities include identifying crisis situations and providing intervention as needed to address difficult or dangerous client situations. This position is responsible for evaluation and reporting of performance data related to employment services. Responsibilities include management of community contracts and developing short- and long-term programs goals. This position is also responsible for managing the program's budget and approving expenditures for client supportive services.
The ideal candidate should have the following:
Hiring range commensurate with experience.
Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Health, or related field and three (3) years of related work experience including one (1) year of supervisory experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred skills include:
Pass pre-employment background check including criminal, credit, CPS, and DMV checks. Valid driver's license and good driving record (driving records may be reviewed annually for continued qualification).
