Job Description

As a Prevention Intervention Specialist, you are integrated into the Loudoun County community facilitating training programs and a community coalition that promotes overall mental health wellness to the community and providing direct prevention and intervention services to high-risk populations.

In this role, you will:

  • Coordination of a community coalition; independently facilitate REVIVE (Opioid Overdose and Naloxone Education Program), MHFA (Mental Health First Aid), and other trainings within the community
  • Perform universal interventions promoting overall health, wellness, and resilience for the County community
  • Assist with interventions in after school and summer prevention programs that focus on youth who are identified as high-risk for adverse childhood experiences
  • Provide evidence-based prevention strategies to promote pro-social engagement and decrease risk factors for substance misuse and other negative social determents of health
  • Collaborate with other programs, agencies and/or community stakeholders to provide appropriate behavioral health prevention and intervention strategies
  • Complete and maintain of all clinical records and documentation according to federal, state, and agency policies and procedures to assure compliance  

 

The full compensation range for this position is provided. Hiring salary will be commensurate with experience.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • 1-year of experience working with high-risk youth, mental health, substance use disorder, and/or prevention services
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience

Valued Skills and Experience:

  • Master's degree in related field
  • CPR/First Aid, HIPPA, Therapeutic Options (TO), OSHA, and Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) Certifications 
  • Prior experience coordinating coalitions and facilitating intervention trainings in a community setting
  • Bilingual (Spanish-speaking) and multilingual applicants are encouraged to apply

Special Requirements

  • Work schedule is 37.5 hours per week
  • Must be fitted for N-95 (or similar) mask to safely provide on-site services as needed

Post Conditional Offer Contingencies Employment is contingent upon successfully passing pre-employment background check to include fingerprinting, credit, NCIC, DMV and TB test. Must have a good driving record and a valid driver's license in Virginia or regional state of residence.
