Job Description

 

Loudoun County's Department of Parks, Recreation & Community Services is currently seeking qualified applicants for regular, substitute, and rover After School (CASA) Supervisor positions with the County After School Activities (CASA) program. CASA is a highly respected afterschool program serving Loudoun County's elementary aged youth for over 30 years.CASA embraces the uniqueness of each child, inclusive of all individual abilities or needs.

Regular and substitute positions are available at various sites in Loudoun County and flexible scheduling is available. Applicants interested in the rover position must be willing to work at any CASA site which is subject to change by day. After School CASA Supervisors assist in the planning and implementation of recreational activities such as indoor and outdoor games, arts and crafts, holiday themed and special projects, as well as quieter activities like snacks and homework time for children in grades K-5. After School CASA Supervisors also supervise other CASA staff, including Leaders and Aides. Salary commensurate with experience.

Please include all applicable paid or volunteer experience working with and/or supervising children in a childcare, recreation, or educational setting.

The CASA program operates Monday-Friday, 2:00 p.m.- 6:00 p.m., following the Loudoun County's school year calendar.

Job Requirements

  • Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in education, recreation or related field.
  • Virginia State Licensing requires 6 months experience supervising children during recreational or educational activities.
  • Must be physically able to keep up with young children.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

 

Special Requirements

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • One year programmatic experience including previous supervisory experience is strongly preferred.

Post Conditional Offer Contingencies

  • Successful candidate will undergo a criminal background and child protective services check.
  • Must obtain certification in CPR and First Aid within 30 days of hire.
  • Must have current TB test certification with negative result.
  • Must be willing to attend 24 hours of paid annual programmatic training during the school year to enhance skills and knowledge of school aged childcare and programming.
