PRCS- Creating Community through People, Parks and Programs
The Department of Parks, Recreation, and Community Services is currently seeking qualified applicants for a full time Field Renovation Technician. This position will provide support to multiple areas within the department such athletic field maintenance and renovation including grading, tilling, top soil installation, sod placement and irrigation set up.
The Field Renovation Technician also supports set-up for special events, tournament ball field preparation, snow removal and emergency response. Some indoor maintenance tasks as assigned. The successful candidate will demonstrate expert skills in operation and basic maintenance of equipment related to renovation projects including bulldozers, loaders, graders, backhoes, laser graders, etc.
Some indoor maintenance tasks assigned. Moderate physical effort, including lifting, will be required. Must be willing to work flexible schedule which may vary and include weekday, early mornings, evening, and weekend hours for required special events.

-High School diploma or equivalent with coursework in building trades, grounds maintenance.
-two (2) years of related work experience in grounds maintenance and/or basic general maintenance inclusive of some level of performance in a supervisory capacity; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
-Hold or obtain a Class A CDL within 6 months of hire.
-First Aid Certification or the ability to obtain certification within 30 days required
Salary Commensurate with Experience
-Membership in Virginia Recreation and Park Society (VRPS) preferred
-OSHA certification as a forklift operator preferred
-Experience in irrigation, masonry, and carpentry preferred
Post Conditional Offer Contingencies
-Successful candidate will undergo criminal, credit, and DMV background checks
-Must pass a pre-employment drug and
alcohol screen and comply with the Alcohol and Controlled Substance Testing Program as
outlined by Loudoun County's Alcohol and Controlled Substance Testing Policy for Transportation
-Agree to an annual DMV check; have and maintain a valid driver's license
-Complete required job trainings including OSHA and forklift operator training
