The Loudoun County Department of General Services is seeking qualified applicants for Maintenance Technician I vacancies in the Waste Management Division. These general maintenance worker positions will assist with landfill and recycling operations by performing grounds maintenance at the 400-acre Landfill site utilizing lawn mowers, tractors, rotary mowers, string trimmers, blowers, and vacuums.
Duties include, but are not limited to, lawn mowing, edging, trimming, fence-line maintenance, litter control, traffic control, recycling center and citizen convenience area operations and cleanup. Off-season work will entail performing maintenance on landscape equipment, fence repair, erosion control (raking, shaping, seeding, mulching), snow removal, and site cleanup.

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and one (1) year of related work experience in grounds maintenance, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Prefer some experience in small engine maintenance and repair.
Salary Commensurate with Experience
A valid driver's license and good driving record is required. Ability to lift 60 lbs. is required.
The successful candidate will undergo a criminal and DMV record background checks.
