MAINTENANCE WORKER (TEMPORARY)

We're currently seeking qualified applicants for Maintenance Workers throughout the county. As part of the Maintenance Division, you will provide support to additional areas within the department such as mowing, renovation, equipment repairs, facility maintenance, emergency response, special event support, snow removal, and special projects. A successful candidate enjoys working outdoors with a dedicated staff, are knowledgeable of the practices and techniques of ballfield maintenance, grounds maintenance, preventative maintenance, building maintenance, and shares a desire to make a difference.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

• Performs indoor or outdoor maintenance and/or custodial services. 
• Completes and documents safety and maintenance checks to ensure state and local standards of safety. 
• Maintains inventory of parts and supplies for cleaning and maintenance.
• assists manager in development of and tracking of annual budget for parts and supplies. 
• Transports vehicles for general purposes and public safety vehicles to designated locations.
• Transports vehicles to external dealers for emission testing, warranty service, and recalls. 
• May perform other essential job functions specific to the position and department assignment.

*Service demands require a flexible work schedule to include early morning, evening, and weekend hours; subject to call for Essential 24-hour operations*

Please include all employment and volunteer experience working with outdoor maintenance.

Salary commensurate with experience.

• Completion of 10th grade.
• Must be physically able to perform medium work, exerting up to 50 pounds occasionally.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma preferred. 
• Prefer six (6) months of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Skilled in using tablet, phone, and laptop.

• Successful candidates will undergo a criminal background and DMV check. 
• Valid Driver's license and good record. 
• Must obtain First Aid/CPR certifications and OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens training within 30 days of hire. 
• Annually complete sworn disclosure statement or affirmation.
