Job Description

Loudoun County's Department of Finance and Budget (DFB) is seeking a detailed-oriented, innovative, highly motivated, team oriented professional to fill the position of Assistant Director/Controller.

The successful candidate will have strong technical experience and credentials in accounting and financial management. This is a senior management and leadership position, and will require extensive experience in strategic planning, best practices in financial management and organization of large scale financial procedures and systems; oversight of the operations and employee development of three groups (Payroll/Accounts Payable, Accounting/Financial Reporting, and Oracle functional support); management and participation in fiscal policy development and review oversight of the County's financial and payroll systems; provide assistance and advise on complex financial accounting and other finance related matters; coordination of external financial and compliance audits; and ongoing examination of County-wide expenditure, revenue and fund balance trends. The applicant must have excellent knowledge of GASB/GAAP and the ability to coordinate/facilitate problem solving of emergency and ad hoc projects as identified by the County Administrator or department head.

HIRING RANGE: $92,257.58-$133,773.49

Salary Commensurate with Experience

Job Requirements

Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Master's degree in Business Administration or Public Administration and five (5) years of related work experience with increasing responsibility including two (2) years in a supervisory or management role. CPA or CPFO preferred.
