The Department of Building and Development (B&D) is seeking candidates for a full-time IT Manager II position. This position manages IT operations for the department and supervises five full-time embedded IT professionals. The position will also provide key support and leadership for the development and implementation of a new land management system for the County. Responsibilities include: B&D liaison with Department of Information Technology and Office of Mapping and Geographic Information; providing recommendations to department senior management regarding technology initiatives and equipment; providing status and issue updates to department senior management about the land management system modernization project and other IT projects; serving as the department's IT security officer and office automation coordinator; providing reports and information for industry groups and other customers; providing other reports as needed by department management.
In addition to the above, during the late stages of development, testing, and implementation of the new land management system, responsibilities include: serving on the core business team for the project; supporting change management initiatives; providing implementation support and application governance support as needed; providing reports and communication to senior management for the department and other County decision makers, consultants, vendors, and others as needed; conducting meetings with key stakeholders; participating in testing and training initiatives.
The successful candidate must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, the ability to analyze complex problems and work with staff to recommend technological solutions, strong customer service skills, and the ability to prepare clear, concise technical reports.
Salary commensurate with experience.
Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; three (3) years of related work experience in operations management, network engineering, systems development, enterprise systems management, budgeting, automation, and administration including one (1) year of supervisory experience.
Must be available for occasional after business hours meetings with staff, the public, or elected officials. Must be available for occasional after hours or weekend application testing or troubleshooting.
Successful candidate must pass background checks for criminal, credit, and driving record history. Must maintain a valid driver's license and good driving record.
