Loudoun County's Department of Information Technology is currently seeking a full-time IT Project Manager.

This position will:

Provide subject matter expertise and support to the IT Program and Project Portfolio Office (PPO), the Program Practitioners, IT Leadership, and their key stakeholders.

Oversee the activities that support strategic projects by ensuring reporting and governance compliance, monitoring key performance metrics around scope, schedule, resource allocation, and budget, and tracking risks and issues.

Work closely with key personnel and subject matter experts across all departments to develop project plans and ensure coordinated management of project activities.

Create project charters; documenting objectives, stakeholders, budgets, resources, impacts and risks. Bring various groups together to develop project requirements and plans as well as lead project discussions. Be responsible for communicating and building relationships with stakeholders within County departments at all levels.

Provide reports and escalation of issues to DIT management and stakeholders Demonstrate strong leadership skills and use collaboration, engagement, creativity, and knowledge sharing to overcome challenges.  Perform research, data collection and analysis as needed Strive for continuous evaluation and improvement in the delivery of project management deliverables and analysis by actively seeking solutions.

Be familiar with Project Management Institute (PMI) best practices and tools for project management, including both waterfall and agile methodologies. Provide leadership and direction on project management principles and practices and support to those groups and individuals within the Department who manage and deliver projects.

Support the PMO by the identification and development of process improvements when needed Possess the ability to work independently with minimal direction.

Job Requirements

Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in related field; three (3) years of related work experience preferably working in IT project management, or equivalent; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Special Requirements

Preference to individuals with:

Three or more years of direct experience in IT Project Management Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and collaborative skills, and the ability to communicate information technology concepts to technical and non-technical audiences at various hierarchical levels, ranging from board members to technical specialists

Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification Information Technology Infrastructure Library Foundation certification (ITIL) V3/V4.

Experience with ServiceNow or Planview software and LeanKit tools is preferred Experience with ServiceNow software is preferred Local government experience preferred
