Job Description

The Department of Mental Health, Substance Abuse and Developmental Services is currently seeking highly qualified applicants for the position of Program Manager for the Behavioral Health Outpatient Program (BHOP) at the Shenandoah Center.

This full-time position will provide strategic, operational leadership and administrative / clinical supervision to an integrated behavioral health team. We employ a dynamic and diverse group of professionals who share a special passion for making a real difference in the lives of the individuals we serve. The provision of treatment services is clinic-based and/or virtual for individuals with a serious mental illness, serious emotionally disturbance, substance use disorder, and/or co-occurring disorders. BHOP provides services to children, adolescents, adults and their families.

The ideal candidate will have specialty knowledge, skills and experience in the provision of clinical supervision and consultation in the following areas:

Evidenced Based Practices, developing and implementing an integrated model of care, implementing individual, group, family and couples therapy, assessing individuals strengths and needs, developing and implementing person-centered plans, linking individuals to requested services and supports, and promoting individual choice.

The ideal candidate will possess a demonstrated ability to provide the highest quality professional service, maintain exemplary working relationships with individuals, families, and providers, and model best practice in recovery-oriented, person-centered principles. The position will ensure that services are provided and records are maintained in accordance with Departmental policy, Virginia Department of Behavioral Health Developmental Services Licensure, Human Rights regulations, and pertinent Medicaid Provider Manuals.

Job duties include, but are not limited to, quality assurance activities, program and staff supervision, program and staff development, monitoring of budget and optimizing Medicaid billing, representing our Department on local, regional, and state collaborations, and oversight of program performance outcomes to influence strategic and operational planning.

HIRING RANGE:  $68,970.58-$94,834.54- Salary commensurate with experience.

Job Requirements

  • Requires a combination of education and experience equivalent to Master's Degree in counseling, social work, psychology or related Human Services field, a minimum of two years of directly related experience in treatment services and progressively responsible work experience.
  • Clinical licensure (i.e. LPC, LCSW, LCP, and LMFT) required.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills and proficiency in electronic health records is required.
  • Bilingual in Spanish highly desirable.
  • Work schedule requires the flexibility to include evenings and respond to emergency management situations.
  • Office location may also include Eastern Loudoun Center and telework as needed.

Special Requirements

  • Four years of experience serving as a clinical supervisor and state-approved supervisor status preferred.
  • Experience treating serious mental illness, co-occurring and substance use disorders preferred.

Employment is contingent upon successfully passing pre-employment background check to include fingerprinting, credit, NCIC, DMV and TB test. Must have a good driving record and a valid driver's license in Virginia or regional state of residence.
