Job Description

The Loudoun County Department of General Services Waste Management Division is seeking qualified applicants for this full-time position at the County Solid Waste Management Facility located in Leesburg, Virginia. The facility provides service annually to over 165,000 customers with revenue collections exceeding $9 million. The Division's operations have recently seen exponential growth, creating the need for an Assistant Division Manager. Under the general direction of the Division Manager, the Assistant Division Manager will manage daily operations of the Division's four distinct lines of business; Disposal Operations, Maintenance Operations, Equipment Maintenance, and Business Operations.

Duties of the Assistant Division Manager include, but are not limited to:

  • Developing and managing operational budget
  • Developing and implementing business policies and procedures
  • Providing day-to-day leadership and personnel management for the functional areas of the facility to include disposal, maintenance, equipment maintenance, and business operations
  • Directly supervising four staff (two Crew Chiefs, the Business Operations Manager, and the Mechanic Shop Foreman), and indirect supervision of 28 full and part time staff
  • Ensuring administrative support is provided to Division
  • Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws, and Virginia Solid Waste Management regulations
  • Managing contracts for daily operations materials and supplies.

HIRING RANGE: $66,638.24 - $91,627.58

Salary Commensurate with Experience

Job Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Public Administration, or a related field; five (5) years of related work experience, including one (1) year of supervisory or team lead experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Special Requirements

A valid driver's license is required. Hold or obtain Virginia Public Weighmaster license.
