Job Description

Loudoun County, Virginia, a rapidly growing and dynamic jurisdiction in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, is seeking a full-time Transit Marketing Specialist for its Transit and Commuter Assistance program, in the Department of Transportation and Capital Infrastructure. The WMATA Metrorail extension to Loudoun County is planned to open in the early calendar year 2022, creating an exciting opportunity for new marketing initiatives for this new and important transportation option. The position is responsible for developing marketing plans and marketing materials for the Transit, Commuter Assistance, Employer Outreach, and Vanpool programs, with a focus on decreasing the use of Single Occupancy Vehicles. 

The position produces visual content that can be used across digital platforms; produces and publishes social media and website content that is consistent with County standards; coordinates marketing strategies and outreach with Public Affairs and Communications staff; and attends county and regionwide marketing events. The Transit Marketing Specialist will conduct community/public meetings as needed, attend Board of Supervisors and regional organization meetings as required, and work with transit program departments throughout the region and within the County. The position is also responsible for generating an annual work plan of activities and completing and managing the grant application for the Commuter Assistance, Vanpool, and Employer Outreach programs. This position is supervised by the Transit and Commuter Services Division Chief. Loudoun County's adopted Transit and Commuter Services budget for FY 2022 is $25.8M.

Job Requirements

Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Transportation Planning, or a related field; four (4) years of related work experience to include one (1) year of supervisory experience.

Hiring Range: $62,207.51- $85,535.32

Salary Commensurate with Experience

Occasional attendance at meetings outside normal business hours.
