Job Description

As a key member of the Public Affairs and Communications team in the Office of the County Administrator, the Video Content Producer will create high-quality, compelling videos and other creative audio and/or visual content for Loudoun County Government internal and external communications.

We're looking for more than just a videographer, we need the complete video content producing package. This newly established position is an exciting opportunity for individuals with expertise in video production and editing, script writing, storytelling, interviewing, message development, graphics generation, animation and photography. This position requires proficiency in video production equipment.

The Video Content Producer's responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in the creative and visual storytelling for Loudoun County
  • Producing informative, educational, and engaging videos and motion graphics for use on all communications channels including social media and website
  • Collaborating with subject matter experts and various stakeholders to conceive video production concepts
  • Plan production schedules
  • Operate video cameras and lighting equipment
  • Produce video content, including interviewing people, traveling to various locations to shoot video and take photos, editing video, conceiving and creating graphics, and publishing content

The successful candidate will be self-motivated, organized, and creative, and demonstrate handling multiple priorities simultaneously. This position requires outstanding writing and content creation skills, the ability to organize information from multiple sources, an ability to work autonomously, and a commitment to accuracy and quality, as well as an ability to shoot and edit video. The Video Content Producer also collaborates with the other members of the Public Affairs and Communications team, the Board of Supervisors, and staff in County departments to support countywide priorities, including initiatives of the Board of Supervisors and senior leadership and all county departments, including.

HIRING RANGE: $57,146.64-$77,147.96

Salary Commensurate with Experience

Job Requirements

Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in communications and three years of relevant experience. Previous experience producing videos for large muti-faceted organizational and/or governmental organizations, including managing and executing all aspects of video production from start to finish, from concept to publishing, including writing scripts and interviewing subject matter experts to obtain the information needed through interviews to support the purpose of a video production.

Special Requirements

This position is considered essential personnel and therefore will be required to work on-site during emergencies, including closures of the County government and full activations of the Emergency Operations Center (EOC). In addition, this position will require some after-hours work to support routine and emergency meetings and events.
