Job Description

Under the direction of the Compliance Program Manager, the Compliance Specialist is the primary contact for coordinating external agency requests for audits. The Compliance Specialist shall represent the Department for audits by facilitating visits, communication, and follow-up; submitting required reports; monitoring completion of corrective action plans; completing compliance file reviews and consulting and training staff regarding regulatory and funding Agency visit results and response.

As a member of the Compliance Program, the Compliance Specialist:

  • Coordinates auditing requests from regulatory agencies and is the liaison between MHSADS staff and auditors with requests for documentation and site visits.
  • Conducts incident investigations and root cause analyses.
  • Provides workforce documentation, incident reporting, and regulation training.
  • Collects incident report, investigation, and root cause analysis data daily.
  • Completes Corrective Actions Plans for regulatory agencies and monitors for effective implementation.
  • Completes quarterly and annual risk management and quality improvement reports as required in regulation.
  • Uses and develops internal auditing tools; compiles analyzes, and reports audit results to senior leadership.
  • Creates 'deep dive' reports from the health record to review high-risk incidents.
  • Chairs or attends the Behavior Plan Review Committee as a voting member, which reviews Behavior Support Plans as required in regulation.
  • Attends the Local Human Rights Committee on behalf of Loudoun County MHSADS.
  • Navigates and uses computers and technology, including Microsoft Office and Electronic Health Record, to analyze and present data.

HIRING RANGE: $53,347.00-$72,018.45- Salary commensurate with experience.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Management, Public Administration, Social Sciences, or a related field; two (2) years of related work experience in mental health, substance abuse, and/or developmental services field in the public sector or similar field serving adults and youth with mental health, substance use, and/or intellectual/developmental needs including one (1) year of experience conducting health and human services investigations; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Special Requirements

  • Technical expertise in Microsoft Office and electronic health records preferred.
  • Prefer Qualified Mental Health Professional - Adult (A) or Child (C) certificate (QMHP-A and/or QMHP-C).

Post Conditional Offer Contingencies

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment background check to include fingerprinting, NCIC, credit, DMV and TB test. Must have a valid driver's license in Virginia or regional state of residence.
