Job Description

The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office is seeking qualified applicants for a Traffic Research Analyst position located within the Operational Support Division.

Major job duties include, under the general direction of the designated supervisor: analyze data regarding traffic for the Sheriff's Office; gather data regarding traffic, different traffic educational approaches, and congestion; analyze statistics; summarize and report findings; oversee related grants; identify ways to prevent fatal and serious injury crashes; identify areas of speeding and drunk driving; identify accidents/injuries by vehicle type (car, bicycle, etc.); coordinate database information to assist in dealing with road construction; and work with law enforcement to improve road safety.

HIRING RANGE: $49,799.99 - $67,229.99, commensurate with experience.

Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree; two (2) years of related work experience in research, criminal justice, public administration, law enforcement, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be a US Citizen or current legal resident of the United States for ten (10) consecutive years. VCIN/NCIC certification will be required within six (6) months of employment. Prefer certifications in Crime and Intelligence Analysis, Military or Civil Professional Engineer (PE), Plans Review Specialist (PRS), or Designated Plans Examiner (DPE).
