The Department of Parks, Recreation & Community Services is seeking qualified candidates for an Assistant Park Manager. Hal and Berni Hanson Regional Park, located in Ashburn, VA, is a brand-new park featuring 17 lighted athletic fields, an event center, nature center, playgrounds, disc golf course, and more! The new 257-acre park will offer a wide variety of programs to serve the community.  

As Assistant Park Manager, a strong customer service focus is needed to handle customer concerns, oversee and manage volunteer programs and work with and assist the park advisory board. 

Job duties include:
-Assist with managing staff work schedules.
-Ensure staff records and reports are complete
-Provide training and oversight of staff
-Manage budget and review financial reports
-Oversee recruiting of part-time staff.  
-Complete various clerical and administrative duties such as class fee registration, attendance reports, and data input.  
-Create press releases and marketing materials for programs and special events.  

Work hours vary and will include early morning, evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet program needs. Must be able to lift 50lbs.

Job Requirements

-High School diploma or equivalent; 4 years of related work experience in recreation, leisure services, environmental education, history, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
-Valid Driver's License required
-Hold or obtain First Aid/CPR and pool certifications prior to hiring or immediately upon hire 

Hiring Range: $48,115.94- $64,956.51

Salary Commensurate with Experience

Special Requirements

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
-Membership in the National Association of Interpretation is preferred.
-Supervisory experience preferred.
