Job Description

Loudoun County is seeking an attorney with experience in procurement, contracts, real estate, and construction law. The attorney will be primarily responsible for providing legal support for procurement, leasing, acquisition and disposition of real property, and environmental projects. Principle duties include procurement, legal work related to real estate transactions, preparing and reviewing leases and contracts, reviewing plats and engineering plans, analyzing title reports, clearing title, negotiating transactions, advising staff and elected officials, and other duties as assigned.

The successful candidate must be able to work independently, prioritize workload, manage multiple projects in a timely and efficient manner, work effectively with staff to ensure projects are kept on schedule provide reliable legal advice and attend night meetings as needed. Excellent written and oral communication skills required. Experience preferred in contract review and preparation and real estate law. Applicants should highlight relevant experience.

HIRING RANGE: $84,670.89-$120,656.02

Salary Commensurate with Experience 

 

Job Requirements

This recruitment will primarily be utilized to fill a Senior Assistant County Attorney position, however, this recruitment may be utilized to fill an Assistant County Attorney position at a lower level.

A Senior Assistant County Attorney position requires education and experience equivalent to a Juris Doctorate from an accredited Law School (or equivalent as state law provides); membership in the Virginia State Bar (in good standing); at least three (3) years of experience in local government or a specific relevant practice area, with a hiring range up to $120,656.02, depending on qualifications.

An Assistant County Attorney position requires education and experience equivalent to a Juris Doctorate from an accredited Law School (or equivalent as state law provides); membership in the Virginia State Bar (in good standing), with a hiring range up to $101,589.13, depending on qualifications.
