SENIOR ASSISTANT COUNTY ATTORNEY (REAL ESTATE)

Loudoun County is seeking an attorney with experience in real property transactions, contracts and construction law. The attorney will be primarily responsible for providing legal support for capital projects, including road and building construction, leasing and environmental projects. Principle duties include:

• Legal work related to real estate transactions
• Negotiating, preparing and reviewing contracts
• Reviewing plats and engineering plans
• Analyzing title reports and clearing title Eminent domain, process and litigation
• Advising staff and elected officials, and other duties as assigned.

The successful candidate must be able to work independently, prioritize workload, manage multiple projects in a timely and efficient manner, work effectively with staff to insure projects are kept on schedule; provide reliable legal advice, and attend late night meetings as needed. Excellent written and oral communication skills required. Candidates with eminent domain experience are preferred. Applicants should highlight relevant experience.

Requires a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and at least three (3) years of relevant experience. Must be a member of the Virginia State Bar. Salary will be based on experience. Experience preferred in real estate law, construction, eminent domain and/or commercial litigation.
