Job Description

Loudoun County, Virginia, one of the fastest growing counties in the nation, is currently seeking applicants for the position of Project Management Engineer III. The Engineer III reviews complex engineering land development applications to ensure compliance with County, State, & Federal regulations through written correspondence with applicants; provides technical expertise to the Department of Building and Development, other County Departments, and outside agencies; delivers accurate and timely information to the public; represents the Department of Building and Development at Planning Commission and other County Committee meetings; provides direct service to the public at HOA meetings and in addressing citizen complaints. Candidates must have a comprehensive knowledge of VDOT design standards and specifications, Loudoun County's Facilities Standards Manual, pavement design concepts, material testing, construction project management, civil engineering projects cost estimates, surveying, E&S standards, utility plan deconfliction, field inspections, and reviewing as-built drawings to assure compliance with approved plans. The successful candidate will possess excellent written and verbal skills and be equally comfortable with electronic or hard copy versions of plans.

Job Requirements

Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field and at least three (3) years of relevant engineering work experience. Candidates must possess a valid driver's license and good driving record.

Special Requirements

Commonwealth of Virginia Professional Engineer (PE) and Loudoun County Designated Plans Examiner (DPE) credentials are preferred.
