Job Description

PRCS- Creating Community through People, Parks and Programs

The Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Services is currently seeking qualified applicants for Center Manager at Lucketts Community Center in Lucketts, VA. Located just 10 minutes north of Leesburg, the Lucketts Community Center includes several features such as classroom rentals, auditorium, after school care, licensed preschool, playground and pavilion. The center strives to provide a wide array of year-round family programming for the community. The Center Manager plays a vital part in implementing these programs and ensuring their efficiency.

The successful candidate will:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations in accordance with policies and procedures; overseeing maintenance of facility
  • Supervise center staff and volunteers; confirm staff records, reports and required trainings are complete
  • Create marketing plan to promote center programs and events in the community
  • Develop management plan and budget for program
  • Implement center programs and events, ensuring they meet citizens' needs and expectations

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related field and 3 years related work experience in program and facility management
  • 1 year supervisory experience
  • Virginia state licensing requires 6 months experience supervising children during recreation or education activities
  • Must have a valid driver's license

Special Requirements

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Certified Parks Recreation Professional (CPRP) certification preferred
  • 5 years of progressive management at a recreational facility
  • 3 years of staff supervision experience

Post Conditional Offer Contingencies

  • Criminal background, credit check, Child Protective Service (CPS) and DMV record checks required
  • Negative TB test within 30 days of hire
  • Hold or obtain First Aid/CPR within 90 days of hire
  • Pre-employment drug and alcohol screening required
