The Department of Building and Development is seeking candidates with strong technical, organizational, administrative, and customer service skills for a full time Technology Support Specialist position. The Technology Support Specialist serves as the primary point of contact for on-demand hardware and software support for Departmental staff. This person records and responds to requests for assistance with computer workstations, software programs, and various work order submissions to the Department of Information Technology Helpdesk. Responsibilities also include providing reliable and timely assistance for all Departmental technology efforts such as computer upgrade projects, iPhone and iPad administration, Bluebeam application license administration and user support, digital audio and video file management, printer deployments, surplus equipment tasks, system data maintenance projects, computer inventories, computer and iPhone supply management, and various other technology operations and initiatives. In addition to strong technical, organizational, and administrative skills, the successful candidate must possess a can-do, will-do, customer service orientated approach to assisting Departmental staff with successful accomplishment of the Departmental mission.
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and four (4) years of technical experience such as data processing, electronics, computer and smartphone technology support, or related experience. Additional education in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field is strongly preferred and can substitute for experience.
Must be able to transport small devices such as laptops and iPhones to other local Loudoun County Government offices. Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and good driving record.
