Job Description

PRCS- Creating Community through People, Parks and Programs

Do you enjoy the energy and excitement of working with youth? Are you looking for a job you love that offers flexibility in your work schedule? Then consider joining the County After School Activities (CASA) Academy team. We are seeking qualified applicants for CASA Academy Supervisor positions at Philomont Community Center, Claude Moore and Dulles South Recreation and Community Centers. CASA Academy provides an after-school option for students in grades K through 5. Each center will have a specific theme for the school year (e.g., arts, music, STEM). CASA Academy Supervisors will plan and implement recreational activities related to the center's theme including indoor and outdoor games, arts and crafts, special projects, as well as quieter activities like snacks and homework time for children. After School CASA Academy Supervisors also supervise CASA Academy leaders and subs.

Please include all applicable paid or volunteer experience working with and/or supervising children in a childcare, recreation, or educational setting.

The CASA Academy program operates Monday-Friday, 2:00 p.m.- 6:00 p.m., following Loudoun County's school year calendar.

HIRING RANGE: $21.50-$29.03

Salary Commensurate with Experience

Job Requirements

  • Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in education, recreation or related field
  • Virginia State Licensing requires 6 months experience supervising children during recreational or educational activities
  • Must be physically able to keep up with school age children
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds

Special Requirements

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • One-year programmatic experience including previous supervisory experience is strongly preferred

Post Conditional Offer Contingencies

  • Successful candidate will undergo a criminal background and child protective services check
  • Must obtain certification in CPR and First Aid within 30 days of hire
  • Must have current TB test certification with negative result
  • Must attend paid annual training
