Job Description
PRCS- Creating Community through People, Parks and Programs
PRCS is seeking Daycare Assistant Subs to join our Community Center Division. If you enjoy working with children, age's three to five, have the skills needed to assist the childcare supervisor in the operation of a childcare program, are able to foresee potential problems and have the specialty skills needed to solve them, then this could be the position you've been looking for. Careful planning and the ability to anticipate issues are qualities we particularly value. People with a proactive workstyle are just what our customers expect.
Reporting to the Center Manager, top priorities for this position will include the supervision of children's recreational and educational activities, and assisting with planning, organizing and maintaining equipment and supplies.
In addition, this position will:
- Clean and maintain an orderly room, provide program information as needed, demonstrate good communication skills, and provide excellent customer service
Successful candidates will:
- Understand that daycare hours are Monday to Friday, and hours will fall between 7:00am-6:15pm. Work a flexible schedule at various locations as needed
- Strive to exceed expectations, foster relationships with positive and effective communication, demonstrate competency working with innovative and evolving technology and equipment.
Job Requirements
- Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma
- Perform moderate physical activity to include lifting
- Must be physically able to keep up with young children
- Virginia State Licensing requires six months experience supervising children during recreational or educational activities
Salary Commensurate with Experience
Post Conditional Offer Contingencies
- Fingerprinting and Child Protective Services (CPS) background checks required
- Certification in First Aid, CPR for adult and child
- Negative TB test result is required prior to beginning work
