Job Description

The Department of General Services is currently seeking qualified applicants to fill a Mailroom Technician position within the Management Support Services Division.

The successful candidate will accurately collect and sort UPS/FEDEX packages, USPS mail items, inter-departmental mail, and other deliverables to County offices, ensure mail is delivered on a timely basis consistent with established delivery schedules, assist in operating mail-metering equipment, assist departments with certified mailing and will ensure appropriate department is charged correct postal rates. This position also develops staffing schedules, oversees the maintenance of the mail vehicles and completes special projects as needed. Assist internal and external customers in a courteous, positive and helpful manner at all times. May provide supervisor support to part-time couriers, as needed.

Job Requirements

Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and at least 2 years work-related experience in a mailroom or postal service environment with accountability of materials in the form of prepaid postage and internal service funds; experience with accounting/record-keeping and automated systems; and customer service. Must have considerable driving experience with an excellent and sustainable driving history.

Special Requirements

Valid, appropriate driver's license. This position is considered a Regular Driver and is subject to an annual driving record review.
