Job Description

PRCS- Creating Community through People, Parks and Programs

Looking for a change or new career? Do you have the desire to make a positive impact in the lives of those in the community? Do you enjoy variety in your daily tasks? We have an immediate opening for a full-time Facility Supervisor at Philomont Community Center located 6 miles south of Purcellville, in the quaint Village of Philomont, VA. The small, historic building, built in 1907, has been used as a school, church, private residence and finally as a Community Center and offers licensed preschool and after school programs in addition to a variety of community outreach programs, classes and special events.

Facility Supervisors provide customer service focused support and supervision of facilities during use by patrons. This self-starting position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to follow instructions and work independently, as well as excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.

This includes:

  • Performing light maintenance tasks such as room set up and take down for programs, activities, and special events
  • Miscellaneous grounds upkeep and beautification
  • Utilize registration software to assist customers with registration for programs, classes, special events and assists with booking facility rentals
  • Collects and processes program fees
  • Substitute in the licensed preschool classrooms as needed

Work schedule varies and will include early mornings, nights, weekends and occasional holidays to meet facility needs.

Job Requirements

  • Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma
  • Virginia State Licensing requires 6 months experience supervising children during recreation or educational activities
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Must have certification in First Aid, CPR for adult, infant and child, and a negative TB test result, prior to beginning work
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds

Special Requirements

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous experience with computer automated registration and payment processing software is preferred
  • Experience working with the public is preferred

Post Conditional Offer Contingencies

  • Successful candidate will undergo criminal background, credit, DMV and child protective services checks
  • Annual DMV record check required
