Loudoun County, Virginia, one of the fastest growing counties in the nation, is currently seeking applicants for the position of Senior Civil Engineer. The Engineer II reviews engineering applications such as Construction Plans and Profiles, and Site Plan Amendments, to ensure compliance with County, State, & Federal regulations through written correspondence with applicants; delivers accurate and timely information to the public, occasionally on site or at HOA meetings, and addresses citizen complaints. Candidates must have a comprehensive knowledge of Loudoun County’s Facilities Standards Manual, pavement design, construction project management, civil engineering projects cost estimates, surveying, utility plans, field inspections, and reviewing as-built drawings to assure compliance with approved plans. Successful candidates must possess excellent written and verbal skills.
Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related technical field and at least two (2) years of engineering/construction industry work experience. Candidates must possess a valid driver’s license.
An Engineer-In-Training (EIT) license in the Commonwealth of Virginia, and Loudoun County Designated Plans Examiner (DPE) certification are preferred.
