Job Description

PRCS is seeking a Middle School Program Assistant to join our Youth After School (YAS) Program. If you enjoy the energy and excitement of working with youth in grades 6-8 and are looking for a career that will make a difference in the life of an adolescent then this could be the position you’ve been looking for.

Priorities for this position include:

  • Interacting with middle school students at various YAS sites throughout the county
  • Applying strong organizational skills and attention to detail while maintaining participant records
  • Participating on projects addressing youth issues
  • Servicing participants, parents and staff by providing program information and registration materials

Successful candidates will:

  • Understand the work schedule is Monday-Friday, 10:00-6:00, with some flexibility to meet programming needs
  • Strive to exceed expectations and foster relationships with positive and effective communication

Job Requirements

  • Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma
  • Strong organizational and time management skills required
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Certification in First Aid, CPR for adult, infant and child
  • Negative TB test result prior to beginning work
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds

Special Requirements


  • Course work in education or recreation with 6 months experience working with children or youth in educational, recreational, or at-risk activities
  • Program planning experience and the ability to utilize automated systems
  • Experience recruiting, scheduling and supervising staff
