Job Description
Our dynamic and growing department serves the aquatic needs of our residents with three indoor aquatics facilities, Claude Moore Recreation Center, Round Hill Aquatics Center, and Dulles South Recreation Center.
We are looking for individuals to #JoinTheFunWithPRCS and become part of the Department of Parks, Recreation & Community Services aquatics team. We have immediate openings for Lifeguards at all of our indoor aquatics facilities. If you hold a Red Cross, or equivalent, Lifeguard Certification and would like to give back to your community while working a flexible part time schedule, we have the ideal opportunity for you.
As a Lifeguard/Shallow Water Attendant, you will monitor the pools and enforce pool rules to ensure swimmer safety and ensure a safe and clean aquatic facility. Work hours are available that include early mornings, daytime, evenings and weekends – to work around your school, work or family commitments. Salary will be based on qualifications.

Job Requirements
Lifeguard II requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma. Lifeguard I requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to completion of the 10th grade. All lifeguard positions require certifications. Applicants that have Lifeguard certifications but have not completed 10th grade may be considered for Shallow Water Attendant positions at a lower grade level until successful completion of the 10th grade.
Special Requirements
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Prefer at least 6 months job related work experience.
Post Conditional Offer Contingencies
Must have Red Cross or equivalent Lifeguard Certification, including First Aid and CPR, prior to beginning work.
