Job Description

Loudoun County, Virginia, one of the fastest growing counties in the nation, is currently seeking applicants for the position of a Project Management Engineer III for land development applications. The Engineer III reviews complex engineering applications to ensure compliance with County, State, & Federal regulations through written correspondence with applicants; provides technical expertise to applicants, to the Department of Building and Development and other County Departments, and to outside agencies; delivers accurate and timely information to the public as requested; and represents the Department of Building and Development at various County Committee meetings, at HOA meetings, and as addressing citizen complaints. Candidates must have a comprehensive knowledge of VDOT roadway design standards and specifications, Loudoun County Facilities Standards Manual, construction project management, civil engineering projects cost estimates, surveying, E&S standards, utility plans, field inspections, and reviewing as-built drawings to assure compliance with approved plans. Successful candidates must possess excellent written and verbal communications skills, computer skills, and experience with electronic plan submissions and reviews.

Job Requirements

Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and at least three (3) years of professional engineering work experience.

Special Requirements

A Professional Civil Engineer license (P.E.) in the Commonwealth of Virginia, and Loudoun County Designated Plans Examiner (DPE) certification are preferred. A valid driver's license is required.
