The Department of Mental Health, Substance Abuse, and Developmental Services seeks dynamic candidates to join a fast-paced team of mental health professionals who provide 24/7/365 access to crisis intervention and stabilization services, linking individuals in crisis, their families, and support systems to treatment options.

Inter-agency collaboration with law enforcement, emergency departments, and a variety of other community agencies is vital.

Job Description

  • Crisis Intervention Clinicians are flexible in providing 24/7/365 services to the Loudoun County community, including: days, evenings, overnights, weekends, holidays, and County closures.
  • The position requires work at least once per week for an 8 hour shift based on coverage needs at Emergency Services.
  • Successful candidates possess specific education and training in the diagnosis/treatment of mental illnesses, substance use disorders, and intellectual/developmental disabilities, and excel in providing crisis intervention/stabilization services in a fast-paced environment.

Job Requirements

  • Professional licensure as a Professional Counselor (LPC), Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Clinical Psychologist (LCP), or a Master’s degree in a field eligible for professional licensure as an LPC, LCSW, LMFT or LCP
  • Must be eligible for certification as a Certified Preadmission Screening Clinician (CPASC) in accordance with VA DBHDS regulations.  Click here to access DBHDS regulations

  • Must be eligible to be a certified Notary Public
