Loudoun County’s Department of Finance and Procurement, Accounting Division, is seeking a detail oriented accountant with strong analytical skills who thrives in a fast paced work environment to fill a full-time regular Financial Analyst position at our County Government Center office in Leesburg, VA. This position is responsible for the implementation of the new GASB Statement No. 87, Leases, to include collection of the full data set of County Leases, contributions to changes in policies and procedures, tracking and reporting leases both as a lessee and a lessor, preparing lease reconciliations, note disclosures and journal entries.
This position also works with County funds and grants, prepares journal entries and reconciliations to the General ledger in accordance with GAAP, researches and resolves accounting issues, communicates and coordinates with a variety of County departments; prepares audit work papers, fund statements, financial schedules and notes for the county’s financial statements.
This position will contribute to other Finance Department areas such as Debt, Fixed Assets, Capital Projects and ERP system related responsibilities as determined, needed or assigned.
Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Masters’ degree in accounting or related field and a minimum of two years of related work experience in accounting and financial analysis.
Prior experience preparing Consolidated Annual Financial Reports, Auditor of Public Accounts transmittals, working with a major ERP system such as Oracle, Deltek or SAP and contributions working on individual or team projects is preferred.
