We have regular and substitute positions available at various school sites in the County for the 2018-2019 school year. As a CASA (County After School Activities) Supervisor you can make a difference in children’s lives by using your strong supervision, organizational and management skills to oversee a child care program with a 30-year history of high quality service. You and your staff will plan and implement fun and engaging children's recreational and educational activities such as indoor and outdoor games, arts and crafts, holiday themed and special projects, as well as quieter activities like snack and homework time for children in grades K-5. You’ll organize and maintain equipment, supplies, and snacks necessary to run the program, and maintain a clean and safe environment for kids to enjoy. Provide excellent customer service, communicate program information to parents and prospective parents, and connect with students and staff as part of the CASA community. Work schedule is Monday-Friday 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm according to the school calendar, plus scheduled planning hours, paid training, partial benefits and leave accrual. Please include all applicable paid or volunteer experience working with and/or supervising children in a child care, recreation or educational setting and all experience working with children with disabilities on your application.

Job Requirements

Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in education, recreation or related field. Virginia State licensing requires 6 months experience supervising children during recreational or educational activities. One year programmatic experience including previous supervisory experience is strongly preferred.

Special Requirements

Must have certification in First Aid, CPR for adult, infant and child, and a negative TB test result prior to beginning work. Must be physically able to keep up with young children and youth. Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
