Job Description

Loudoun County’s Department of Parks, Recreation & Community Services is currently seeking qualified applicants to work and train as an After School Aide in the County After School Activities (CASA) Program. CASA is a highly respected afterschool program serving Loudoun County’s elementary aged youth for over 30 years. The Aide position provides employees the opportunity to work in an after school licensed child care setting under close supervision. These positions will work under direct supervision of an After School Site Supervisor and Leader, learning how to provide supervision of participants according to Virginia state licensing, department policies and procedures. These positions will have opportunities to learn how to plan and implement age appropriate disciplinary techniques, receive leadership training and gain a working knowledge of state child care licensing standards. Assist with snack preparation and help with room set up and clean up on a daily basis. Assures program supplies are clean, safe, age appropriate and properly stored. Successful candidate must have excellent communication skills. Must have a general knowledge of child care practices and a willingness to learn about current licensing standards. Attend 24 hours of annual programmatic training during the school year to enhance skills and knowledge of school aged child care and programming. Work schedule is Monday-Friday 2PM-6PM. Job Requirements

Position requires completion of 10th grade. Virginia state licensing requires candidates to be at least 16 years of age. Completion of 11th grade strongly preferred.

Special Requirements

Must obtain certification in CPR and First Aid within 30 days of hire. Must have current TB test certification with negative result. Must be physically able to keep up with young children and youth. Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
