Job Description

Loudoun County's Department of General Services is seeking qualified applicants to fill this vacancy within the Public Works Division.

The successful candidate will direct activities of Public Works staff on a daily basis in areas of stormwater inspection and maintenance; train staff and execute inspections for detection and elimination of illicit discharges to the stormwater system to meet VPDES discharge permit requirements; oversee street sign manufacturing, installation, and repair to meet County, State, and Federal standards; and manage grounds maintenance. Directs field and shop activities of Public Works technical personnel in response to County emergencies and snow related events; and directs activities of staff performing activities in support of the Office of Elections and Voter Registration, as required.

Job Requirements

Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma and seven (7) years of experience in Public Works and ground maintenance related activities, including at least two (2) years of supervisory experience.

Special Requirements

Valid, appropriate driver's license required. A valid Class "B" CDL is preferred. This position is considered "essential" and may be subject to call to respond to County emergencies.

Post Conditional Offer Contingencies

Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background and DMV record check. The successful candidate holding a CDL must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and comply with the Alcohol and Controlled Substance Testing Program as outlined by Loudoun County's Alcohol and Controlled Substance Testing Policy for Transportation Employees.
