Job Description

The Loudoun County Department of Family Services (DFS) is seeking a talented and highly motivated individual to fill the Business/Data Analyst position. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing and reporting on agency data to the County and community based partners who utilize Housing and Urban Development (HUD) mandated systems, Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) for Coordinated Entry, as well as ensuring compliance requirements are met.

This position will also manage, analyze and maintain the department's overall data and performance metrics. Additional duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Data collection, analysis and reporting, outcomes measurement, evidence-based strategies, trend analysis and reporting, and quality improvement functions. Involvement in the development and/or use of relevant statistical and database systems (e.g., Excel, Call Point, Harmony and Microsoft SQL) to access, analyze, prepare, and present accurate reports and data for outcomes measurement and decision making.
  • Supporting agency-wide implementation of the Results-Based Accountability (RBA) outcomes measurement framework; data extraction activities for budget and other reporting purposes; and creation, maintenance, and updating of monthly data dashboards to reflect program activity.
  • Serving as a data consultant, collaborating with Department management and staff to provide support related to data collection and analysis, including determining appropriate analytical tools, developing data tracking procedures, training staff on data collection, monitoring of collected data, analyzing and interpreting data, and assisting with submission of reports to stakeholders.

Job Requirements

Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Statistics, or Computer Science and three (3) years of related work experience preferably in business management and knowledge of research methodology, experience using reporting software to build queries, experience using statistical software packages such as SPSS or a related field.

Special Requirements

Microsoft Office (including Word, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint), SPSS or similar statistical software, and database software are a plus. Must be able to communicate and present ideas effectively (orally and in writing); develop and administer surveys, analyze information and create clear and organized reports; and work collaboratively with all staff within a dynamic work environment.
