The Department of Building and Development is seeking qualified candidates for a long-term, full-time, temporary position as a Technology Customer Support Specialist. This person will serve as the primary point-of-contact for on-demand hardware and software support for departmental staff. Responsibilities also include providing reliable and timely assistance for technology efforts such as computer and equipment upgrade projects, digital audio/video file management, new printer deployments, system data maintenance projects, computer inventories, computer supplies management, and similar tasks involving technology services and equipment. The successful candidate will possess a desire to contribute to the Building and Development Technology Team's mission to provide effective, accurate, and reliable information, communication, and technology support for departmental staff. A positive, can-do/will-do, team member approach is critical.
Requires a combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree with major coursework in computer science, data processing, electronics, or other related field. Work experience in computer technology, help desk support, or computer hardware/software support may be substituted for the education requirement. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and customer service skills are required.
May occasionally require light lifting of equipment up to 20 lbs.
