Job Description

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office is seeking qualified applicants for full-time Administrative Assistant position(s) at different locations within the County. Major job duties include, but are not limited to: answer incoming calls and refer inquiries to appropriate entity; transcribe minutes verbatim from various section, station and bureau meetings; draft, type and edit correspondence for station personnel; prepare purchase orders for supplies; order all supplies; function as purchasing agent and works directly with department buyer as needed; obtain vendor quotes as necessary; track purchasing processes; reconcile division credit cards; run traffic and criminal history records as required; perform various clerical duties to include copying, faxing and filing; and assume various duties of other administrative personnel in their absence.

Job Requirements

Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma and three (3) years of administrative work experience. Preference given to those with previous experience with purchasing and dealing with the public.

Special Requirements

Must be a US Citizen or current legal resident of the United States for 10 consecutive years. Successful candidate must pass a VCIN/NCIC written examination and become VCIN/NCIC certified within one year of employment.
