Loudoun County's Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Services (PRCS) has provided recreation and leisure opportunities and supportive community services for our citizens since 1966. Our dynamic and growing department serves the needs of our citizens who represent all ages, interests and abilities through the integrated network of programs including health and fitness, youth and adult sports, visual and performing arts, preschool, youth and teen programs, programs for seniors, prevention programs and programs for individuals with disabilities. We’re looking for individuals who have a positive attitude, good communication skills and are self-motivated to work as Instructors at various locations across the county. These part time positions reach out to the community through our network of facilities which include parks, trails, community and recreation centers, swimming pools, senior centers, athletic fields, historic properties and a nature preserve. Instructors will teach their skills or talents to meet customer demand or in response to trends. Subject matter may include arts and crafts, fitness, dance, aerobics, strength training, water safety, languages, Standards Of Learning (SOL) subject matter, nature, historical, various sports or any other talent or activity, from Beginner to Advanced level and for audiences from preschool aged to seniors or special needs. Locations include Community Centers, Senior Centers, Sports and Parks and other Loudoun County sites/facilities. Schedules are flexible and can include days, evenings and weekends. Hours vary with the number of class sessions. Salary based on multiple factors including class skill level, technical expertise of instructor, and market demand.
Requires the ability to teach others your special skill or talent, a passion for your field or skill area, and strong motivational and customer service skills. Program planning skills and knowledge of the developmental stages or learning styles of the target audience is required.
