IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

• Ability to lead, manage, and coach technical staff
• Ability to plan, organize, and supervise the work of others
• Knowledge of software applications; installation, operation, testing, and maintenance methods and techniques
• Knowledge of Windows Server, VMWare, Active Directory, Exchange, SQL Server, and other enterprise software
• PMP Certification (preferably)
• Skill in communicating technical information to non-technical users.
• Knowledge of servers, storage, backup, and archiving hardware and software
• Knowledge of Data Center infrastructure and Data Center management practices

JOB OVERVIEW

This IT Manager (Infrastructure) position is responsible for performing managerial and operational duties by planning, coordinating and supervising staff members responsible for the design, analysis, development, implementation and documentation of new or maintenance of existing information technology infrastructure.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

A Bachelor's degree in computer science, business management or public administration and six (6) years' experience in computer systems management or systems software support

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES

Directs staff in the analyses of vendor supplied software and determines optimum configuration for hardware and software interfaces.
• Ensures business continuity and disaster recovery in accordance with standard practices and policies.
• Ensures that user needs and requirements are properly interfaced within broad parameters and capabilities of system configurations.
• Functions as the in-house specialist providing technical expertise on hardware and software capabilities.
• Purchases and manages hardware and software inventory, licenses and maintenance contracts and ensures compliance with license agreements, copyrights, and intellectual property laws.
• Ensures the security of servers and networks by implementing effective information security solutions, policies, and procedures.
• Ensures the proper management of IT data centers including supporting infrastructure such as HVAC, UPS, generators, fire suppression systems, and physical security.
• Manages projects in support of IT Infrastructure initiatives such as system upgrades or new system implementations.
• Hires and manages technical and supervisory staff and provides coaching and performance evaluations.
• Identifies, develops and implements projects and initiatives to meet business systems and software needs.
• Manages staff engaged in the design, analysis, development, implementation and documentation of new or maintenance of existing information technology infrastructure.
• Provides expert level consulting to agency and department management and users in planning, acquiring, and utilizing data processing hardware and software.
• Develops and manages budget for IT hardware, software, services, and maintenance contracts.
• Ensures the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of enterprise data in accordance with business requirements and data retention policies.
• Performs other related duties as required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The work is sedentary and requires exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects; may also require hearing, mental acuity, speaking, talking, visual acuity, and walking.

Conclusion
