The Clerk of the Circuit Court is looking for new members to join our team as part of one of the finest organizations in Hillsborough County. Employees of the Clerk of the Circuit Court provide quality service to our public.

The Ideal Candidate should possess:
• Broad overview knowledge of the courts systems and of the Clerk of the Circuit Court’s office functions.
• A strong background in the areas of writing, analyzing and researching procedures.
• Prior experience giving presentations before groups of people as in providing instructional strategies.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.


Graduation from high school or possession of a GED Certificate; and
(3) three years of clerical experience; including
(2) two years of experience in the processing, examining, preparing or reviewing of any type of legal document.


A passing score on a general clerical exam is required


Knowledge of applicable Clerk of Circuit Court standards, policies, principals and practices.

• Knowledge of functions, services, procedures and regulations of the Procedures team.

• Knowledge of computer systems and software and the ability to expertly operate same.

• Skilled in operating various office equipment to achieve objectives.

• Ability to research statutes and utilize online resources.

• Ability to follow the established guidelines and write procedures.

• Ability to present procedures verbally to an audience, while explaining and applying a variety of legal terminology, concepts, and technical procedures. In addition, obtain methods and techniques to perfect presentation performances.

• Ability to organize and coordinate meetings.

• Ability and willingness to follow instructions and provide assistance.

• Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism; work with a diverse group of people all over the organization and maintain effective working relationships in a collaborative team environment.

• Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.

• Ability to maintain records, prepare reports and spreadsheet documents.

• Ability to manage time; meet deadlines and provide support for the Procedures team and the Criminal Court Processing Center team.

• Develops and implements standard operating procedures to improve quality of service, productivity and efficiency by Courts personnel.

• Updates existing procedures or creates new ones in written form, by using a process analysis: What, Where, When, Why & How.

• Researches, collects, organizes and evaluates information to produce a work product that provides concise step by step instructions.

• Exercises excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing.

• Maps out a work flow diagram and develops logical conclusions and suggest process improvements.

• Holds and participates in meetings with relevant stakeholders for particular tasks and subject matter experts to extract their knowledge in specialized topics.

• Coordinates with the Training department and individuals to develop training courses based on procedures.

• Interprets laws, statutes, regulations and other information.

• Makes compelling presentations of procedures monthly before the Clerk’s Senior Management Staff.

• Tracks, maintains records and assists in the preparation of statistical and other department reports.

• Reviews the work of peers and provides feedback.
• Coordinates with other sections within the organization to ensure efficient flow of information; interprets and explains requirements, regulations and procedures.

• Trains assigned personnel and help the Training department to facilitate training classes.

• Performs other related duties as required.
