JOB OVERVIEW

Performs supervisory duties pertinent to the intake, evaluation, diagnosis, counseling, treatment and case management of troubled children and their families which includes the clinical review and supervision of client files.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Graduation from an accredited four year degree granting college or university with a major in a Social or Behavioral Science; and
Four years of professional level experience in child care service, guidance and rehabilitative counseling or clinical social work.

Or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience that would reasonably be expected to provide the job-related competencies noted below.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES

  • Supervises the work of subordinate staff by scheduling, assigning and reviewing work, providing training and counseling and evaluating performance.
  • Develops and implements various treatment and educational plans.
  • Interviews, evaluates and counsels children, adolescents and family members.
  • Identifies, reviews and acts on management, administrative, and operational problems.
  • Coordinates with other departments/agencies to ensure efficient services are provided.
  • Identifies and procures resources needed by treatment counselors to perform their duties.
  • Prepares and maintains documentation on clients including complete psychosocial histories.
  • Provides case management services including case management of at risk children and children with disabilities.
  • Monitors client status to ensure quality care and aftercare.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
