JOB OVERVIEW

Performs technical duties designing, purchasing, programming, implementing, and maintaining a variety of hardware and software running on networked personal computers, mini computers and/or mainframe computers.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

An Associate's degree or higher; and
Three years of experience installing, configuring and supporting computer hardware and software technologies; and
Possession of a valid Driver's License.

An equivalent combination of education, training and experience that would reasonably be expected to provide the job-specific competencies noted below.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES

  • Analyzes, develops, and maintains existing software, proposed modifications, and new software packages for impact on current operating systems.
  • Organizes, plans, and schedules the implementation of new hardware systems and enhanced software packages.
  • Prepares and conducts instructional packages designed to train assigned personnel on new technologies.
  • Identifies and documents standards for hardware and systems software operations.
  • Coordinates with vendors and users on identification of hardware and software problems and system modifications or enhancements.
  • Measures systems performance for optimization of systems and applications software packages.
  • May perform as a team leader on large, complex systems projects.
  • Supports department and function specific automated programs, multiple operating systems and ensures access to the internet.
  • Manages computer inventory and sets-up and maintains images for workstations, laptops, tablets etc.
  • Drives a vehicle to remote locations to deliver, pick up, install and/or troubleshoot equipment problems.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
