JOB OVERVIEW

Performs journeyman level painter duties.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Completion of tenth grade; and

Four years of experience in painting building exteriors and interiors, furniture or equipment; and

One year of experience with job bidding, estimating and work scheduling; and

One year serving as a lead worker. 

Or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience that would reasonably be expected to provide the job-related competencies noted below.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES

  • Paints surfaces applying finishing coats which may involve delicate color matching, handmixing, and spray finishing.
  • Develops cost estimates and plans for major projects.
  • May supervise a crew of painters.
  • Applies texture coatings to walls and buildings, and industrial coatings to equipment.
  • Pressure washes building exteriors.
  • Prepares and stripes parking lots.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
