JOB OVERVIEW

Performs senior level informational and referral duties to assist the public in locating and accessing various services provided by the County and other community agencies.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Graduation from high school or possession of a GED Certificate; and
Three years of experience working in a public contact capacity.

Or
An equivalent combination of education, training and experience that would reasonably be expected to provide the job-specific competencies noted below.

TESTING REQUIREMENTS

A passing score on a general clerical exam may be required.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES

  • Plans, supervises and assigns guides or hosts for the presentation of orientations and tours.
  • Prepares or obtains handouts, brochures and other promotional material for use during presentations and tours.
  • Makes arrangements for tours through installations, in or around equipment, or on board vessels, aircraft and similar facilities by maintaining liaison with agency/ department officials.
  • Invites and schedules speakers for special events and programs.
  • Speaks to civic, governmental and other interested groups concerning County programs, services and facilities.
  • Receives and tracks complaints, requests and inquiries and coordinates actions to achieve prompt and satisfactory resolution.
  • Assists the public in accessing County services.
  • Compiles data and participates in preparing statistical analyses and reports of activities and achievements.
  • Directs and participates in the preparation and publication of various manuals, reports, pamphlets and brochures for use during presentations and tours.
  • Supervises, trains and participates in the hiring of subordinate staff, volunteers and student interns.
  • Operates various types of equipment and office machines as necessary.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
