Senior Program Coordinator (#SRPGCOCSBO) CSBO
$20.58-$33.64 Hourly / $3,567.20-$5,830.93 Monthly / $42,806.40-$69,971.20 Yearly


Performs full performance professional level work implementing, administering, and developing complex program activities and functions and provides technical expertise to program staff, other agencies, the community, and program participants.  Incumbent may coordinate one or more specialized programs.


A Bachelor's degree; and
Two year of experience directly related to the position duties.

  • Knowledge of equipment, materials, techniques and methods used in programs and special event development, design, presentation, and administration.
  • Knowledge of department's objectives, policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of budgetary forecasting, development, and management to include procurement practices and methods.
  • Specialized functional knowledge of a specific operational area, and demonstrated ability to perform specialized work in that area.
  • Ability to plan, design, implement, evaluate, coordinate, and administer marketing plans, educational curriculum and recreational programs and services.
  • Ability to identify and secure program partnerships.
  • Ability to understand, interpret, and communicate applicable laws, rules, regulations, and policies.
  • Ability to implement, monitor, and evaluate effectiveness of programs and services.
  • Ability to operate a computer using word processing, spreadsheet, and presentational applications.
  • Ability to monitor, oversee and provide guidance to volunteers, clients and other employees.

  • Recommends, develops, and/or modifies program procedures, guidelines, standards, and policies to achieve program goals and objectives and determines changes that need to be made in program policies and procedures based on feedback from customers, officials, service providers, and/or community groups.
  • Conducts comprehensive needs assessments by auditing and evaluating program progress to determine if the program is achieving its objectives.
  • Analyzes program data, identifies actual and potential problem areas, trends, areas of imbalance, and related factors that impact a program, and prepares comprehensive reports of findings including solutions and recommendations for upper management.
  • Ensures program operates in compliance with departmental goals and objectives, pertinent laws, rules, and regulations, monitors federal, state, and/or regional regulatory changes to determine when program rules and regulations need to be revised, and advises service providers, community groups, and clients on changes needed to comply with program criteria.
  • Develops and implements fund-raising plans and public education and awareness programs and delivers presentations at conferences, public meetings, and seminars.
  • Prepares articles for publication, press releases, and promotional materials.
  • Meets with community groups, service providers, officials, other agencies, and customers to solicit input regarding a program’s direction, evaluate a program’s effectiveness, and assist in developing new programs.
  • Investigates sources of program funding, writes grants, administers program budget and grant funds, assists in the development and implementation of the budget, approves expenditures, and ensures grant funds are used correctly.
  • Develops volunteer programs, writes program descriptions and instructions to provide guidelines for volunteers and serve as a review tool, develops training curriculum, and recruits, trains, and directs volunteers.
  • May assign and distribute work, review work for accuracy and completeness, and returns assignments with recommendations for proper completion.
  • May supervise assigned staff, evaluate performance and recommend corrective action as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
