JOB OVERVIEW

Performs supervision of staff, inspections, and custodial duties at County facilities and grounds.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Completion of sixth grade; and
Two years of experience in custodial duties.

Or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience that would reasonably be expected to provide the job-related competencies noted below.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES

  • Supervises and inspects the work of custodians in the cleaning of facilities and grounds.
  • Inspects facilities and grounds for custodial related needs, such as cleaning, repairs, maintenance, and supplies.
  • Dusts, polishes, moves, and arranges furniture.
  • Sweeps, mops, waxes, and polishes floors.
  • Cleans and washes windows and mirrors.
  • Cleans restrooms, and replaces supplies.
  • Empties garbage cans and wastebaskets at facilities and grounds.
  • Orders and issues supplies and equipment.
  • Performs minor repairs and maintenance of cleaning equipment.
  • Reports requirement for major repairs, adjustments, or replacements.
  • Inventories, orders, and replenishes paper products, cleaning supplies and related equipment.
  • Delivers supplies, related equipment, and runs errands, as needed.
  • Replaces light bulbs and air conditioner filters.
  • Opens and secures facilities, common areas, and grounds, as directed.
  • May mow grass, trim hedges, sweep and clean sidewalks.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
